Description
Wrap me up in cellophane and butterfly wings,Tied up with silken threads and spider webs.
Encase me in ice and crystal,
But I can never in this state stay.
Memories of bright and glittering things,
Now for never, as time flow and ebb.
Falling leaves and trickling tears
Have washed the innocence away.
So now I’ll be, sweetness turned foul –
The stench of wasted youth, of wasted breath.
Prematurely withered, twisted and forgotten,
A blackened spot among shades of grey.
Benevolent darkness went on its prowl,
To hide the sight of unnoticed silent death.
Everything but my prosthetic heart lay rotten.
But long ago my soul has started to decay.
