In the thick tangles of the woods of Oregon something is said to lurk.
If you're ever on a hike or a camping trip in the forest and the trees seem to reach for you, the grass twists around your feet, maybe you see some abandoned gear, or a lone stop sign standing among the trees.
Nothing to fear for most, only a strange anomaly in these ancient woods.
But I warn any who hurt this forest these small odd encounters aren't so safe.
For something waits for folks like you, a being hides in these woods hunting for you. It seems like nothing more than a mess of vines overtaking some trash left in the woods, but it will come for you.
The creature can't move very fast on its own so it gathers forgotten objects to make itself stronger, from bones to the objects that foolish humans leave behind.
Though most don't believe in these folktales, trust me when I say the Hollow Vine always watches, it always creeps and it never lets its prey escape.
So that's the lore now for how it kills.
It can give off a paralyzing spoor that if you inhale you won't be able to move for an hour. Once you're frozen it drags you across the ground to the tallest tree in the woods, hitting your head on every sharp rock and root along the way. It will slowly pull you to the top of the tree and hang you there with a fragile vine, and if you move ever so slightly too fast SNAP you're gone, just another corpse to be mulch for the woods you tried to hurt.
