Description Changed this up a fair bit, adding a much more interesting "background". It's pretty clear what this image is referencing, but mainly I wanted to improve on my prior designs. Much thanks to the amazing Geoff Darrow, who inspired the majority of my design choices.

This is a very cool, very evocative design, it definitely feels like the U.S. Army circa 1950 could have used this. I think my favorite aspect, though, are the cartoony elements - it makes it somehow creepier!

Cool design, I second the wish about being able to do that kind of color work.

Epic, but for some reason, it reminds me of T-51B mixed with the RIG the Isaac wears in dead space

Very good, you've managed to capture the feel of the T-51 b suit of armour, all the while introducing something new to the setting.

One thing though - power armour is a hydraulic exoskeleton powered by a microfusion reactor - the legs seem too thin and slender to contain powered limbs.

Otherwise, jolly good.

That is a very, very good point. I will revisit this one day, and come up with something a bit more proportional. Thanks a bunch for the thoughtful comment!

I'm a Fallout geek, what can I say... I've also forgot to add one thing: as an incremental update of the classic T-51b, at least for me, some elements remind me of the Enclave Advanced Powered Armour, making it a model that bridges the gap between the original and advanced version.

If I was Obsidian, I'd be all over you right now

As an avid fan of the series, I have to say I'm truly amazed. Great concepts, all of them, in league with the series.

Nice ALtered Version of the T-51b Power Armor, Bloody!... lets call it the T-52b! even if there's no models that been made in the Fallout Story

Naw, man - it's the T-51c. It's right there on the page.
I'm waiting for an enterprising modeller to have a go at this before I do.

sweet. But isnt the style quite stolen from fallout?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

calebcleveland In reply to osksta [2008-12-06 17:10:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's mainly stolen from Frank Miller's "Hard Boiled". Think of this drawing as what I wish the armor from fallout looked like.

I gotta say that it's the little details which really sell the image. The faded nose art and battle damaged insignia are a wonderful touch.

Yes, I like it colored. It's like a space marine from the 1920 World's Fair. Great design.
