Story time: So my plan was to make 2 new pieces a week and I started on this one and kept getting stuck. I wanted to keep these quick, but this one was a nightmare. So in frustration, I started a new "warm-up" illustration, fell in love with it, and decided to write and illustrate my own children's book. I currently have three pages done and in the process of editing story drafts. Usually my excuse for not writing my own book was I didn't want to sacrificed time in paid work, but now that I have minimal long term work and that doesn't seem to be changing, there's no better time!So anyway, I came back to this one with fresh eyes and finished it up. Though I still couldn't decide which version I like better. Typical. 🙄 Both versions and detail pics are on my instagram. And I'll be posting teasers for the book soon. If anyone has pitched illustrated books to publisher, I'd love to hear from you 💜
