Zaire has a heart of gold. He does his best to be of help to those around him, and takes great joy and seeing people smile because of him and his efforts. He often puts other people’s needs before his own, and goes out of his way to make sure everyone around him is happy. He’s very empathetic, and often feels the emotions that people around him are feeling. If someone dear to him is struggling, he often finds himself a bit more down than usual.

Zaire is incredibly optimistic, too, and tries to find the silver lining in things. He often sees things through rose colored glasses, and can end up in tricky situations because of it. He frequently struggles with being realistic and grounded. However, his happy-go-lucky attitude is often a welcomed one, and he’s known for brightening people’s days with his incredibly sweet and thoughtful personality.

Ted is by no means the smartest guy in Shadow Empire. He isn’t even close to it. He’s a bit slower than the average person, and struggles to keep up in normal conversations at times. He’s very easily confused, and sometimes struggles to understand basic sarcasm and joking tones. He’s quite insecure about this, and takes any sort of criticism (jokingly or not) very personally, and struggles to get over those kinds of comments.

Zaire was born to two cats, Osiris and Hadiza.
Zaire is the only cat out of the litter that isn't sold. He is raised alongside an orphaned liger names Zariyah. The two become adoptive siblings.
Zaire and Zariyah become very close, and explore Massilia together. They grow up away from the violence of the coliseum and bounty hunters. They are raised to be kind and peaceful.
Sadly, Osiris and Hadiza both caught a terrible sickness, and died quickly. The two children were barely even aware of what was happening.
Due to their owner no longer being able to financially support them, Zaire is sold off to a traveller, who planned on selling him in another city.
During the trip, the wagon collapses in an accident, and Zaire is freed, running away.
After wandering for some time, Zaire finds a place called Shadow Empire.
