Description
Rainbow Rays is the older twin of the Applejack and Rainbow Dash twins. They're the first kid of a total of six, though they were born before Rarity confessed to Applejack and Rainbow Dash and the three became polyamorous. There's their twin Apple Slice, younger brother Gilded Apple, the younger twins Fluorite and Rainbow Thread, and youngest sister Opal Apple. They gets along pretty well with them all, though they are closest and best friends with Apple Slice.

Thanks to their huge family, they're pretty open and like to play jokes on others. They're fun loving, loud, brash, and love to race. Despite having a big family and plenty of people to practice on, they tend not to understand the boundaries between when a prank is funny and when it isn't. After pulling a successful prank, ponies will hear their loud and obnoxious laugh ring through the air, like a donkey heehawing. Many people are trying to break them from this, though it isn't going very well so far.

Rays is good friends with Veda and Sunnie, though they often just tolerate Hoopla. The two of them are pretty similar, though this tends to be where their problems come from. They have a bit of rivalry going on, leading to races, screaming matches, or general fights. One of these races is actually where Rays got their cutie mark from, after having beat Hoopla despite all of his cheating and best attempts to make her loose. When Rainbow realised they had not only won but got their cutie mark, they raced home to show their parents, whooping and cheering the entire way.

As a young foal, Rays had a dream of one day growing wings and joining the wonderbolts, or perhaps starting a branch for earth ponies and unicorns. Growing up, they realised how silly those dreams were and abandoned them, though they were replaced by wanting to join the royal guard when Rays met Lightning. Not only would this allow them to protect Equestria, it would allow them to be a personal guard to Veda, whom they had a major crush on since the two of them were foals. However, they have yet to tell Apple Slice of these dreams, keeping it a secret from most of their family...
