Description
When the line to Great Waterton, with the help of Stanley was completed, The Fat Controller needed an engine to run the branch line. He originally wanted Stanley to run the line due to his hard work there, but it was unfortunate that the yards at the time were very disorganized, and he had to work there instead. Due to the lack of an engine, STH decided to trial multiple engines on the line. James fussed about branch line work too much, Charlie was always distracted, Barry was often called for other secondary duties off the branch line, and some of the other Knapford engines had their own work to do.

Eventually, it was Katherine's turn to run the line. To the surprise of no one, she proved to be successful on the line and made firm friends with the Skarloey Engines whenever she saw them at Crovan's Gate and Bluebell Valley. After much though and consideration, Kate was chosen to run the line and was the first to ever run it permanently. The other engines are glad of this now since they don't have to bother with the little engines.
