Description
Ruby Ashfall, leader of the Blood Ruby pirates and captain of the airship, the Ruby Heart. She is the semi-love interest of Kane Northwind. Unlike Kane, who only targets other pirates, Ruby has no qualms about attacking and stealing from honest traders, though wealthy company ships are her preferred targets. She's slightly better than most pirates though, generally leaving most of the crew unharmed. She has even on the rare occasion been known to act heroically, once defending a medical airship from attack from a rival pirate clan, the Piranhas. This noble act is probably what won over Kane's heart. While he still doesn't exactly condone her acts of true piracy, he does sometimes tend to look the other way if she's attacking a wealthy corporate ship. If and when he does come to their defense he also tends to take it easy on her, allowing her to escape with only minimal damage, and she likewise, tends to take it easy on him fighting back.
