Dorchester, Dorset, England, United Kingdom, Maiden Castle - remains of buildings erected in IV c. on south-east end of the hill fort by Romans. The temple and ancillary buildings, probably, served soldiers stationed in the Maiden Castle. After withdrawing the troops from Britain shrine fell into ruin and the building materials were simply cannibalised by locals.
