Looking at what great character faces are shown at nexus I thought I give the in-game character creator another try. The 1K face textures are still the same and I haven't used any additional face sculpting tools. I did use the Marquardt beauty masks for reference to check whether the golden ratios (phi) are applied. Moving the eyes back, and the ears and nose up slightly were some minor changes I did. The eyes are still closer than recommended, but that is my personal preference.


The field of view needs to be changed if you want to apply the masks. The active setting of 70 is too high resulting in faces being narrow and long. 50 is a better value, but you need to move the character further away for the same head size.


Also apply the idle ragdoll animation in the character creator to put your character in the T pose (outstretched arms and level head position)



One additional comment to the recent changes. The goal is to make the face as large as possible so that the head is in the right proportion to the body's neck. If the face is small then the neck will be too long compared to the size of the head. The only way to compensate besides swapping out the skeleton is to make the face longer. That means to increase the lower face attribute to max, and then adapt the other features afterwards.
