*gigglesnort* Brilliant idea! Professor Farnsworth and the Brain working together... humanity doesn't stand a chance 
I really like how the background flows with the characters - details like the rust on the counter/walls and the slight glare of light on the window give the piece such a great "at sea"(or rather in space) feeling.
Also, I love how Pinky's just sort of whizzing around in the background

Not sure what you mean by actual or simulations.
The team up never actually occured in a cartoon, and they are my own drawings.
They are my pirate versions of the characters.

Honestly, this pic is awesome. The lineart is crisp and clean, the coloring is great and you EVEN drew your own background! You obviously know your characters well too (meaning they are not OOC). xD

Usually I don't draw a background (such a pain to do)!
I usually use some photo background that seems to work.
Even though most of my Futurama fan art is pirate oriented, and far removed from the originals, I do try to keep them in character. Althought I've given Zoidberg a lot more prestige and wealth than he ever had on the show!
