Playing Star Trek Adventures requires the Gamemaster to keep on hand a number of NPC Crew characters, for use when a Player's main PC is stuck on the ship, or when a Player as a senior officer needs to call on his department for help (This is what is meant by "Crew Support": on a Size 3 ship like a Nova Class, it means you can call upon 3 NPC characters to assist you in a Task, such as repairing the warp core before it explodes, or performing surgery in sickbay.) This character is an EVA specialist, assigned to the Engineering Department.
