Description

“Tristan Farooq should’ve known that he was living a perfectly normal life, if he didn’t discovered what exactly happened to his uncle, Khotun Farooq. Tristan thought it's time to let go of his past, but it wasn't until many years later that Tristan accidentally discovered that both Tristan's father and uncle once worked for the League of Assassins many years earlier.

Tristan Farooq lived with a humble Muslim family in Dearborn, Michigan. His uncle had a small business in a form of cafe in Gotham, and every summer holiday, Tristan’s family would visit his uncle’s house there. Their last visit was, in fact, quite a catastrophe. Tristan was 13 years old when his family came to Khotun’s house, only to find out that they witnessed a bloody corpse of Khotun there. 2 weeks following their visit, there was no evidence upon who was responsible for this murder, and the GCPD concluded that Khotun died by mere technical accident in his house. Tristan’s father, Tagudar Farooq, would eventually replace his brother to continue the cafe business there, and Tristan’s family eventually moved permanently to Gotham City. Bruce Wayne, the millionaire whom Khotun was very close to for many years, aided Tristan’s family to rebuild their business again, and like never before, their cafe became much more successful than before.

Tristan, however, had a different agenda. As his uncle’s death nearly traumatized him, he decided to set his dream as a police, going against his father’s wish. In fact, he even joined the City’s parkour community. In the age of 18, shortly after he graduated from high school, Tristan attended the Police Academy, much to his father’s concern. Fortunately, Tristan passed the Academy with a satisfying result, and he was placed in a promising position in GCPD, all in the age of 21.

A month later, Tristan was given a task to investigate a mysterious murder in Gotham City, led by a cult who was said to be ‘following the order of a Demon’. Despite Tristan wasn’t sure if GCPD was joking or not, Tristan decided to do his duty right, and right when he discovered the cult’s whereabout in Gotham’s alley, he was knocked out by one of the cult’s members. Tristan was then tied up beneath the ground of Gotham, a place which was actually the cult’s basecamp. Thanks to his experience he got during high school, he was able to untie himself, and decided to look inside the basecamp. Everything was safe and sound, until Tristan was seen by the leader of the cult, who was none other than Ra’s al-Ghul. In the same time, Tristan accidentally figured out that the cult itself was actually the infamous League of Assassins, and an intense fight happened between them. In the midst of fight, Ra’s told the truth to Tristan that it was Ra’s himself who killed Khotun years earlier, and the fact the he said it angered Tristan immediately.

Before Tristan could even spill his anger towards Ra’s, Tristan was saved by Batman and was eventually brought into much safer place, far away from crowds. The Batman would eventually unmasked himself in front of Tristan, revealing himself to be Bruce Wayne, and told Tristan that Bruce has known Tristan’s family for many years, and even until many years later, he still blamed himself for not saving Tristan’s uncle at all. Tristan eventually understood what actually happened to his uncle, and in exchange, Bruce told Tristan that he would be the second patron to Tristan, of course after Tristan’s father. Since that day, Tristan Farooq was never the same again. In the busy city of Gotham, Tristan is indeed a junior GCPD cop, always energetic to do his job right. But in the silent night, in the Gotham’s Underworld, he is Midrab, the deadly shadow vigilante!”

AUTHOR’S NOTES :

So yeah, apparently this version of Midrab never infiltrated the League of Assassins, or did he?

Welcome to the Captarv-Verse version of DC Universe, Earth-ARV38! It seems like I have expanded the Captarv-Verse again, and sometimes, I thought it would be great if I am gonna bring back my main DC OC (well, this one was originally my Young Justice OC back in year 2020; now he’s something more than this), Midrab, after near 2 years of absence, I guess.

When designing Midrab, I accidentally realized he was actually meant to be a GCPD cop, and not just an assassin. Thanks to the original Resident Evil trilogy gameplay and design (you know what I am talking about, right?), I was able to create a much more tactical design on Midrab, while still retaining some elements from Midrab’s very first 2020 design, created by CrossoverGeekDA (remember this? www.deviantart.com/captainarv/… ). I also put some elements from the League of Shadows Assassins from Gotham Knights game; while I still want to make him quite a ninja, I also want him to embrace his Arabic heritage here. For the context, the Earth-ARV38 version of Midrab had his father and uncle being born part Lebanese part Mongolian and part Chinese, while Midrab’s mother was Muslim Japanese, not to mention the League of Shadows assassins speak in Berber. Somehow, I successfully made him tactical, but in the same time, I accidentally made Midrab ended up like a character from Naruto Universe LOL
