Description

Rust Wind - a small town settled in the Grass Valley wilderness, named mostly after its proximity down-wind to the vehicle-wreckage strewn Highway 395, home to scavengers and hunters with a steadily growing presence of sharecroppers and farmers looking to expand to the frontiers of the New California Republic to if not fortune then at least some degree of freedom from increasingly burdensome legislation "back east". The folks who live in Rust Wind are every bit as hardy as any others in the NCR's ostensibly 'civilised' lands, unique only in their position as settlers on the borders of the NCR's control. Life is dull and repetitive, but ostensibly safe.

When a stranger from another world falls from the sky, the daily doldrums of life in Rust Wind are changed forever - an old menace stirs in the great wastes of Death Valley, one older than mankind itself, one as harsh as the post-nuclear wastes, and one with a hatred to rival even the most monstrous beasts for life on Earth as we know it.
