Description
When I was youngAnd prone to believing such things,
I understood true evil in the world.
You see, I told my friends, I know
The truth of bees.
When God made the Earth,
He wanted to make it good
But there was too much evil.
It would corrupt His creations.
So instead, He took all the evil
And condensed it into small pieces.
But they came to life,
Horrible and ugly
With membranous wings
And sharp stingers
To inflict agony on all that was good.
Unable to simply destroy the evil,
For God was limited by thermodynamics,
He painted it yellow and black
To warn all others
Of its malignant intent.
When I believed such things
It was easy to live with them.
But now that I've grown,
I'm just afraid.
