Character sheet for Major Siegfried Isenstein. This usually very neat and alert character, has a secret laudanum addiction, so I included the concept of him disheveled and dazed, with messy hair. The scars on his back are in the shape of moth wings, relating to his nickname ‘Moth’. Like a moth, he’s light on his feet, and a bit poorly coordinated at times. However, he’s hyper-observant, making him very good at doing his job and not getting killed. His saber is called ‘Nibelung’, and has a gold and ivory handle with an ivory skull. Siegfried can’t fly airplanes, and can barely drive a car, but he likes to buddy up with pilots and persuade them to give him a ride. Fig 4 is more of a driving jacket than a pilot’s jacket. In the last fig he’s wearing a helmet shield for extra protection, and a cardboard trench coat. The cardboard trench coats were issued to lower ranks, and melted in the rain. Water damage made the grey dye bleed into multicolored stains. Siegfried didn’t like the trench coat obscuring his figure, he never purchased a good quality one, like most officers would, and so, ended up wearing a cheap synthetic one. Siegfried regularly disguises himself as a private, by removing his silver epaulettes and fabric barges, to avoid being targeted by snipers. He doesn’t smoke or drink, but is partial to Apfelsaft and laudanum mixed together. In scenes where other officers are smoking and chatting, Siegfried is usually eating an apple. German ww1 troops were issued caffeine pills, which he’s also partial to. Their British counterparts were issued cocaine pills, which Siegfried plunders from his POW’s.
