Role: Fungus garden maintenance and resource gathering

Armament: N/A

Info: it is not entirely known if the maggots were created by the Hive itself or there a separate symbiotic species the Hive has incorporated. What is known is that they maintain the Fungus gardens and help gather smaller biological material. They also seem to break down the biological material more efficiently than the Biobag and Guard Workers, which may be the reason why the Hive tolerates them if they indeed are another speashes. They can be found anywhere within the Hive territory, but are usually seen in the fungus gardens and covering the ground where there is biomatter to collect.

Portrayal: the maggots act like a combination between their IRL counterpart and Ants, with the exception that they lack self preservation. They will attempt to consume all biological material they find, living or dead. If the biological is wearing protective clothing (or just clothing in general) the maggots will find it difficult to chew thro the material so will try to find another way in. They are slow so they will use other Hive organisms to travel long distances away from the fungus farms.
