Description
Originally rejected by the Confederate Army what would be come the M2 started out when the 3rd French Empire placed an order for 100 Barrels from the Winston Automobile Company in 1930. When the Third Mexican War broke out the Confederate government purchased these barrels and pressed them into service as the M2 Barrel. The M2's three inch cannon proved better at busting Mexican fortifications than the M1A1's two inch gun. Following the end of the Second Mexican War and order was placed that fully to fully equip the 1st Armored Cavalry Division's out modded Christy tanks with M2's. The Confederate government also replaced the barrels ordered by the French government.- Designer: Winston Automobile and Motor Company
