Centuries ago, a powerful sorcerer named Zrodon came to Earth from a distract planet called Eltar in Andromeda Galaxy to hide the legendary Zeo Crystal from the forces of evil. With the aid of his trusted assistant Alpha 5, the noble master enlisted the help from five extraordinary young warriors and gave them the power to transform in a super-human fighting force. But soon the young warriors where tested when the corrupted witch-Rita Repulsa fallowed Zordon to Earth in a attempt to steal the Zeo Crystal for her own evil plans. In there time of urgent need, the warrior's called upon the spirit's with in themselves to summon colossal assault mecha's; known as zords. In the end the warriors of Earth used all there powers and ultimately sacrificed there life essence to seal away Rita, but not before she casted a spell witch trapped Zordon in a time warp; forever separating him from the physical realm. From then on every generation, Zordon and Alpha 5 would choose five young warriors to guard the Earth should Rita Repulsa return...the young warriors called themselves the Power Rangers!

Season 1 Rangers:

Jason Lee Scott: A natural leader and star athlete at Angel Grove High School. Even though he's a Sophomore he is the Captain of the Martial Arts Team. Zordon gave Jason the Tyrannosaurus Power Coin, thus making his the leader and Red Ranger of the Power Rangers. He commands the Red-Tyrannosaurus Dinozord and wields the Power Sword in battle. It is later discovered he has Japanese ancestry. His fighting style is Japanese Karate'.

Trini Kwan: Like her friend Jason, she also on the school's Martial Arts Team and is the Student Council Parliamentarian. She is clear headed and calm, but she can easily be provoked when monsters threaten the Earth or those she cares about are placed in danger. Zordon saw her spirit and gave her the Sabretooth-Tiger Power Coin. As the Yellow Ranger, she commands the Sabretooth-Tiger Dinozord and carries the twin Power Daggers when going into battle. Her fighting style is Ti-Chi and Kung-Fu.

Billy Carsten: A straight-"A" student, Billy is questioning his sexuality. Because of this the town bullies, Bulk and Skull would harass him at school. When he gained the Triceratops Power Coin and became the Blue Ranger; Billy gained not only friends to back him up but also he gained self confidence to stand up for himself. He commands the Triceratops Dinozord and uses the Power Lance when defending the earth. All though he has no martial arts training, Jason teaches Billy Karate' in there down time. Billy also tells the others he used to be in gymnastics as kid.

Kimberly Ann Hart: A spunky and energetic girl, Kimberly is on the school's gymnastic team and dance team. She has big heart and always makes time for her friends. When she learns that Billy might be gay, she is the first one to tell him it's ok and she will always be his friend. She is sceptic and didn't want to believe Zordon at first when he gave her the Pterodactyl Power Coin. As the Pink Ranger, she commands the Pterodactyl Dinozord and is a expect marksman with her Power Bow. Kimberly uses a combination of her gymnastics and dancing skills to create her own unique form of self defense.

Zachary "Zack" Taylor: A street smart rapper and dancer. Despite the fact he comes off as a goof ball at times he quickly matures once he becomes the Black Ranger and second-in-command of the team. He was given the Mastodon Power Coin and piolets the Mastodon Dinozord. He uses the Power Ax witch can also be used a shotgun like blaster in battle to defend his friends and the innocent from Rita's minions. His fighting style is a mix of break dancing moves and Ju-jitsu.

Later on...

Thommy Oliver: Thommy was a transfer student from Reefside High School and joined the marital arts team at Angel Grove. Once he was Rita's mind controlled slave but was saved by a kiss of love and a friendship from Kimberly. He kept the Dragonzord Power Coin and joined the Ranger Team as the sixth ranger. When he's fighting Rita's monsters, he commands the Green Draonzord by use of his Dragon Dagger witch doubles as a flute. In addition he has the Dragon Shield witch gives him additional defense power. He can pass his shield on to other rangers if need by.

Season 1 Villains:

Rita Repulsa: The self proclaimed Empress of Evil and corrupted witch. At one point she was the Green Ranger before falling to the side of evil. She pursued Zrodon from the Andromeda Galaxy to obtain the Zeo Crystal for her own prepuce and use it conquer Earth. In the first battle with the Power Rangers, she summoned Goldar from the Underwolrd and used the rock from the very asteroid that killed the dinosaurs in her mad quest for power. Ultimately she trapped Zordon in a time warp before the first ranger team sacrificed themselves to seal her away for 10,000 years in a bronze dumpster like prison.

General Goldar: Goldar was a servant to Queen Bansheera long before Rita Repulsa summoned him from the underworld to do her bidding. He since became her General of her Army of Stone Golems and leads her monster created by Finster into battle. Goldar was defeated by a Power Ranger team and entombed in a underground temple beneath what is now modern Mariner Bay until he was resurrected by Scorpina and Rita Repulsa when they was released.

Finster: Finster is Rita's long serving monster maker. He is somehow able to craft her Stone Golems and Monsters from the very rock of the asteroid that killed the Dinosaurs 65,000,000 years ago. He is fiercely loyal only to Rita and only takes her orders. He is also skilled in sorcery as a alchemist and potion making. He is also the one who crafted Rita's Magic Staff, Goldar's Sword of Darkness and Scorpina's Stinger Saber.

Scorpina: Scorpina was the first Pink Ranger, but was captured by Rita Repulsa at one point and powerful dark spell was placed on her, turning her evil. What made the spell permanent was the moon waned fully to a new moon. Scorpina is often very affectionate to Goldar and vice-versa as they are both constantly partnered together in battle against the rangers. Eventually she was destroyed when Kimberly used the Dragon Dagger as an arrow head, striking Scorpina in her heart. Her remains where placed in Goldar's Tomb by Goldar himself who promises to have her revived one day.

Squatt & Baboo: When Rita summoned the demon Goldar to Earth, the spell she used somehow managed to summon Squatt and Baboo as well. Rather then destroy them, she uses that as her henchman and personal footmen. All though they never seem to do anything right when it comes to fighting the Power Rangers, they seem to be the target for her anger an frustration when she gets head-aches.
