Once Kyoya parents discovered the outfit he worn to the party they were shocked until they found out he ended up making friends with the heiress of the Amanosuza Group. They let it slide this once but lessons on how to dress up properly were quickly added to Kyoya schedule.

In episode 22 Suzuha mentions how Kyoya texted her in the English Dub while the Japanese Dub mentions how he personally told her. I wouldn't say that it's far-fetched to think they at least meet each other when they were younger.
