Description
This is my design for Digitigrade stilt Foot-paws. The main difference between them and most of the other designs I've found is that the frame and attachment point for the upper leg support is set up to allow for more natural movement and less of a bulky appearance. They are designed to look like the Achilles Tendon, rather than part of the ankle. Also, this drawing is incomplete as it states in the drawing itself. Some parts are also generalized (the hinge for the toe block) or may require some additional modification or even fabrication. (I would recommend avoiding materials like plastic or aluminum)
As such, feel free to modify, tweak and adjust this design according to your needs and desires. All I ask is that you pass on the reference to this design if you post anything for your version.
I WILL be making these as soon as I can, and will submit photos and personal review of how well they worked.
This is a smaller version of this drawing, and as such has lost some resolution. If you want a full size copy; shoot me a note on here with your preferred e-mail address and I will send you the PDF. It is an "ANSI E" sized drawing, which is 34"x44" (864mmx1118mm). So if you want to print it off, it will require a plotter, or it will get shrunken.
WARNING:
ANY STILT IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO THE WEARER. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE PROPER ANKLE SUPPORT TO FINAL PRODUCT (I RECOMMEND A MINIMUM OF A 7 INCH LEATHER WORK BOOT). AND PRACTICE WEARING THEM AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BEFORE USING THEM AT ANY EVENT.
