I've been kind of thinking about some of the scripture from during Jesus' ministry. Specifically on those part that rebuke the existing church for being a bunch of loud-mouthed hypocrites. So here we have a, historically inaccurately portrayed, pharisee praying in the temple, standing upright and blatantly chastising the tax collector praying next to him. The tax collector, in turn, humbly prays on bended knee, keeping his prayer between himself and God.Related content

Always a shame when piety turns to pride. You learn and grow a heck of a lot more when you're humble (not a doormat, just teachable).
