I've been reading The Sandman a lot lately, as you can tell from my other drawings. Eclipse was sort of inspired by all the old gods and the fantastical covers of Gaiman's series. She is spinning the sun around with her fans, hiding it in her gaze. Or something like that.

I started to draw a girl in this pose a long time ago. I shoved it into my filing cabinet until yesterday when a very bored me pulled it out and started to doodle. I loved drawing her outfit, it's a tad garrish, but it was so much fun to create. It's beautiful on the outside, but it's reversible and the inside is lined with black.

The scan of this was pretty shoddy, so I tried to up the contrast and color quality using photoshop, not sure if I like the results. I'm really proud of the original though, took me a long time.

Eclipse belongs to me now. : D My first character.
