Hi, My names Carlos and today I'll be showing you a quick and easy way to make an "Emo" chop which all the brooding youngsters out there will fav and increase your page views! Exciting huh?
Step one:
Download Adobe photoshop. You can pay for it; but youll be saving lunch money for about 4 years. But when youre emo who cares if your emaciated! Its actually even better to be emaciated due to the fact you can fit into your little sisters jeans. They look cool.
Step two:
Look for sources! When looking for sources; make sure you find the darkest scariest sources. Preferably with a lot of straight lines. Straight lines makes things easier and quick! When looking for a model, find someone with these criteria; collars, wearing black, white hair, pale skin. Also its very important to find someone standing in front of a plane background. You can then use the magic wand to select them. Its so easy!
Step 3:
Get the nice brooding background you found on the "interwebs" and open it. Then open your model and cut and paste her into the background. Now start erasing the mess the magic wand made and there you go! Its almost like shes there.
Step 4:
Lets make her look a little more in there. Darken her edges and put smoke with a paintbrush set to 34 percent with a soft edge. Use said smoke to hide things and put tons of black where you dont want people to look. Black is every emo kids best friend when it comes to photoshop. Its the absence of light after all.
Step 5:
Lets think of some theme. Good graphic artist will think of the theme and then draw out a rough draft before they even get to the pc. But not us. We dont require advanced thinking. How about "The Keeper of Worlds". Thats good! We can then use those windows as the worlds and they have mostly straight edges! SWEET!
Step 6:
Put the other 2 backgrounds behind the original background around where the windows are. Now use the eraser tool (not the masking, too much thinking) and hold down shift running along the edges of the windows. Now we have worlds!
Step 7:
Now we have to add black to those backgrounds. Around the edges of the windows on the background layers of the worlds. Just start adding black at 30 percent until a lot is hidden. The more thats hidden the better. Remember black is our friend!
Step 8:
Now lets make that girl look even more goth and put some red on her lips and a trickle of blood! Dont even bother making a new layer for these enhancements. Theres no point!
Conclusion:
And there you go. Youre very own "dark and brooding" deviantart chop. 15 minutes of work and just watch the page views roll in. Get ready to make a lot of friends!
