Description
I spent the majority of my Christmas break on this, and now I've finally got it done. Large pieces like this take me FOREVER (albeit this would probably not be considered "large" by most artists).Drawing made from jemapellenicoletta's photograph "Adella's Looking Glass" [link] I decided to call it "Amber," however, because that's what the spyglass reminded me of.
11x15 Stonehenge. Pencil. WIPs in the scrapbook section.
Also, the scan isn't quite what I'd like it to be. It's actually smooth in real life, but it doesn't appear so in the scan because I had to increase the contrast. It's not the worst scan in the world, but I would have liked it to be a little better.

You gotta appreciate the details in her hair and clothing, I'm completely awestruck
Perhaps a little tweaking with the contrast in Photoshop or something similar (Gimp for instance is pretty much a free version of Photoshop, only lacking a few options that you find in Photoshop) would upped the quality of the drawing even more, making the darkest part even darker to add more depth to it. Other than that there really is nothing else you could've improved, it's simply amazing

I made the background darker in Photoshop, and I tried to do the same for the rest, but every attempt left the white and mid-tones at a poorer quality. So I had to settle for just the background darkening (drat).
It really looks a lot smoother and darker in real life. But I guess that's true of any physical drawing or painting that gets digitally scanned.

Well that sucks.
Yup, that's the case with most drawings >.< I'm trying to find a way to fix those problems myself, but so far not much luck.
Of course the scanner can't take away the beauty of a drawing, it's still amazingly done

Thanks. Maybe we'll get lucky someday and someone will invent a good way to digitize art...
But that's probably not high on the list of priorities.
