"You look as if you're in trouble." A voice sounded from the reeds. Jayfeather jerked his head around and saw an orange face peering at him through the stalks."Flametail!" The ShadowClan cat was watching him coldly. "Help me! I'm drowning!"
Flametail took a step forward, then stopped, his eyes burning. "I know how you feel."
"Can you reach me?" Jayfeather strained to see the ground beneath him. Perhaps it was solid enough to take Flametail's weight.
"Why should I?" Flametail's mew was icy. "You didn't save me."

Why is everyone hating on Flametail? I know the oh-so-amazing and not very grumpy Jay-Jay was in trouble, but quite frankly, if you were dying and someone COULD Help you didn't purposely didn't, you be just a tiny bit annoyed, no? At the very least, he could be able to let Jayfeather suffer for a second, THEN help?

Jayfeather tried to help him, but starclan said it was Flametails time to die. Jayfeather didn't want to let go but he had to. Jayfeather didn't let him die starclan made him let flametail die.

it wasnt jayfeathers fault. if he kept swimming after flametail he would have drowned too. jayfeather was also part of a prophecy so he couldnt die yet

I can't believe Flametail did that to Jayfeather. If I remember correctly, at Flametail's death, he was all accepting of what was happening, saying "Don't fight it Jayfeather" and "It's so calm and peaceful." Then he goes and acts like a butt to Jayfeather. Seriously Flametail? T__T
