"You look as if you're in trouble." A voice sounded from the reeds. Jayfeather jerked his head around and saw an orange face peering at him through the stalks."Flametail!" The ShadowClan cat was watching him coldly. "Help me! I'm drowning!"
Flametail took a step forward, then stopped, his eyes burning. "I know how you feel."
"Can you reach me?" Jayfeather strained to see the ground beneath him. Perhaps it was solid enough to take Flametail's weight.
"Why should I?" Flametail's mew was icy. "You didn't save me."

I hated Flametail so much in this scene. But, once you think it over, you can understand how he feels. I just thought Starclan cats would always know how they died, like how Jayfeather tried saving him. Maybe it was because of the battle that was tearing Starclan apart...

Flametail fell into the lake and Jayfeather tried to save him, but Rock came and told Jayfeather it wasn't his time to die, so he left Flametail.
