Also known as The Prisoner. Gus is one of the many Ghosts haunting the Haunted Mansion, he's part of a group called the Hitchhicking Ghosts.

In life, he was a sleepy shepherd that became frustrated with the noise of his sheep. After throwing a fit and escaping an angry ram, he tumbled into a wedding and knocked over the wealthy groom and was arrested. Trying to rest in prison, he was interrupted by the sounds of cannon-fire as the prison fortress came under assault by a crew of pirates. He was able to escape and use a cannon to launch himself on a pirate dinghy. Rowing towards a desert island however, his ball ended up falling overboard, causing him to drown.

As a Ghost, he soon found his way to the Haunted Mansion, and has Haunted it ever since.

He soon became friends with two other Ghosts, Ezra Dobbins and Phineas Queeg, the three bonded over being able to rest in piece in the afterlife, and partake in all sorts of Ghostly pranks. at some point in 1969 and forward, they were recruited by Marcus Gracey to join the Ghosts Relations Department, with their task being, to follow mortals home, to find any wayward soul who'd want to join the happy haunts and find a home in the Haunted Mansion.

The three soon earned the title as the Hitchhicking Ghosts by Marcus, and had practically become mascots of the Mansion as a whole due to their frequent appearances.
