Eliza is testing out her diving equipment for her new sea selvage job. In the time and place Eliza is present wetsuits and rebreather masks have yet to be invented so it's more of vintage diving techniques such as a suit and helmet attached to a air hose to the surface. There also a tank chained to the breastplate to provide the diver extra oxygen then need be.

It's a cumbersome task to bear burden especially for a young girl at Eliza's age of seventeen but she's managing as the best she could and starting to get used to it.
