At first I was convinced the crow must be standing on the ground behind, but having looked very closely at the full resolution image I am fairly confident that it really is standing on the deer's head! The focus is the same as the deer and there is a hint of it's right claw on the edge of the deer's head. Of course the third possibility is that you've been having some fun in Photoshop!
