**EDIT**
Depending on how tight you make the two thigh straps, they have a tendency to wiggle their way down your leg when walking around..to fix this HEM TAPE! Put some hem tape on the backs of the straps and basically tape them to your pants. They should stay in place most if not all of the convention.

Sorry for the late reply school has kinda taken over my life. All the straps I made are about 1 inch in thickness. If you want to take the time and make them look cleaner (this will take longer) and "hem" the edges of the leather so that there aren't any ugly ends then you will want to make them a bit wider so that you have room to hem them.

Quick question: Those two awkward strap parts that come off the front suspenders..
Where do those...get sewn to (per say)? o.o
Are they like, sewn to the pants? or the bigger belt?
Or are more suspender clips necessary for that?
Sorry for so many questions here :/
Just need some clarity.
Thanks so much c:

all the awkward strap parts on the belts are connected to the pants with suspender clips. Nothing is sewn to the pants or the belt. ^u^ hope this helps and good luck making them! I'm glad this tutorial can help so many people!

most fabric stores should have pleather or pleather like material. Just be careful because sometimes said fabrics can be really expensive

Just wondering, is it easy to put them on? Being a to-be cosplayer of this, I'm wanting to know.

they aren't hard but they aren't easy. the process is simple but it gets a bit confusing sometimes, and it also kinda takes a while to put them on. My friends and I are trying to find ways to make it easier/less time consuming but i don't think there is many ways to make it easier to put on.

waaaaiittt .. i dont have suspenders and i wanted to use straps that i saw at a local lace center.. what do you think the measurement (in yards) would be including the suspenders?

CasuallyDisregarding In reply to Kigenzen [2013-10-10 03:58:40 +0000 UTC]
Not 100% sure on what you are asking but I'm gonna take my best guess and say its about the measurements of the front and back straps that I use my suspenders to measure for (the suspenders are not part of the actual finished project they were just used for measurements). If so the front ones (the ones that connect the top of the front of your pants to the gray back piece) is, for me, 17 inches. and the back ones (the ones that connect the top of the back of your pants that cross over to the opposite side of bottom of the gray back piece) is, again for me, 13 inches. I just used the suspenders to see where the best placement of where I should clip the suspender clips when I'm wearing the harnesses and seeing how long I need to make the strips. You could easily measure this out on yourself without the help of suspenders and just with a regular measuring tape. If this isn't the answer to your question you can message me and I can try to help you out
