Description
First of all: I drew this for the ones who supported me no matter what happened. Thank you SO very much.
I truly love you all.It is finally done:
Character L, also known as the detective candy addict from the manga series Death Note.
This guy got most of the votes of my poll 'What shall I draw next [...]?'
which is weird because I mainly draw game fanart (or better said: 'Square Enix' fanart) aside from the usual drawings.

About Death NoteI don't know a whole lot about Death Note, except from reading *SilentReaper s comics, and from all the other fanarts I've seen before. And the movie of course, of which I took the reference from.
I know there are characters called L, Light, Mello, Near and Kira, and a crazy big guy with the name Ryuk.
But that's it really. Shame on me

About the drawing...The whole picture in general wasn't hard to draw, but... argh... that damn sleeve!
It was driving me nutty, I tell ya!!! St00pid folds!!! D:<The hair was made up, since the reference image wasn't clear at all, so I drew it the way as I thought it would look nice without making it too fake or realistic.
As for the background...
Believe it or not, but that's entirely done with a 0.5mm HB mechanical pencil.
No further comments on that.---------------------------------
Stuff I used:
- 4H, 2H, H mechanical pencils for the skintones
- HB, B, 2B mech pencils for the shading
- 4H, 2H, H, HB, B mech pencils for the clothes
- HB for background KRGGGRRAAA
- pencil eraser
- tortillion, blending stick & tissues for blending
- Hahnemühle Nostalgie 190 g/m² • 90 lbs sketchbook paper
Time spent: 2 days / approx 18 hours

I absolutely LOVE L. He is probably my most favorite detective of all. Sherlock Holmes is amazing and all, but sadly.. I fell in love with L first. Scooby Doo and the Gang don't even count as being 'real' detectives, so naturally I couldn't have fallen in love with them.
Either way, this is absolutely breath taking! Honestly, if I had not know that you had drawn this.. I would have assumed it to be a black and white photo of the actor.
The shading, the detail, and the well-loved L posture is all too much for me to handle at once. You did an amazing job on this, and I cannot keep my eyes away from it.

Wow this is AMAZING!!!! The hair is basically what it's supposed to look like. Is this from the live action movie or the manga? In my opinion it looks more like the live action.

my only problem with it is that the hair is too neat, and should be a little disheveled but besides that its flawless great job (especially without reading it and having a blurry reference)

I always loved how you put all that effort into the little details like the wrinkles in the sleeve, it is what gives your pieces that Nicolienian touch.
Something about you that I'm sure everyone appreciates as well is your incomparable will to continue far after you lose your patience shading those inhumanely large areas with a thinass lead.
Just, try not to get your fingers all broken or something, we all wanna keep enjoying your eye-delectables.
