Description
First of all: I drew this for the ones who supported me no matter what happened. Thank you SO very much.
I truly love you all.It is finally done:
Character L, also known as the detective candy addict from the manga series Death Note.
This guy got most of the votes of my poll 'What shall I draw next [...]?'
which is weird because I mainly draw game fanart (or better said: 'Square Enix' fanart) aside from the usual drawings.

About Death NoteI don't know a whole lot about Death Note, except from reading *SilentReaper s comics, and from all the other fanarts I've seen before. And the movie of course, of which I took the reference from.
I know there are characters called L, Light, Mello, Near and Kira, and a crazy big guy with the name Ryuk.
But that's it really. Shame on me

About the drawing...The whole picture in general wasn't hard to draw, but... argh... that damn sleeve!
It was driving me nutty, I tell ya!!! St00pid folds!!! D:<The hair was made up, since the reference image wasn't clear at all, so I drew it the way as I thought it would look nice without making it too fake or realistic.
As for the background...
Believe it or not, but that's entirely done with a 0.5mm HB mechanical pencil.
No further comments on that.---------------------------------
Stuff I used:
- 4H, 2H, H mechanical pencils for the skintones
- HB, B, 2B mech pencils for the shading
- 4H, 2H, H, HB, B mech pencils for the clothes
- HB for background KRGGGRRAAA
- pencil eraser
- tortillion, blending stick & tissues for blending
- Hahnemühle Nostalgie 190 g/m² • 90 lbs sketchbook paper
Time spent: 2 days / approx 18 hours

This is the most realistic thing Iv'e ever seen on Deviantart! Nice!
The only problem i have is that L is described by the author as being one fourth Japanese, one fourth russian, one fourth Italian, and something else, but it was European, so I would think that the real L would look more Caucasian than Oriental. But then, that is just my opinion. The sleeve is epic awesomeness.

Absolutely stunning! I really enjoyed the anime, but I never saw any of the movies...And you must have one deep well of patience! All of my drawings are half-finished, the faces shaded and whatnot, but hair and clothes still quick-sketched lines. So, kudos to you, for outstanding skill and patience! Woot!

because it's not typically my favourite subject to draw, unless you cound Final Fantasy as being anime/manga-ish too ~_^ but then again, I don't enjoy drawing FF anymore either so yeah

WOW. Just plain wow. This piece is amazing. The level of detail is stunning. But what makes my jaw drop is the fact that you did this with pencils. Ok, granted you used a couple of things for blending, but that actually adds to the greatness of this piece. A lot of people would have gone in and touched it up in Photoshop, but you did it the old-fashioned way, and, in my humble opinion, it came out better that way. I tip my hat to you, sir.
