Kinda... some refer to it as combat dancing. It's more like a game of skill and control (and often acrobatics) - to prove to your opponent you could find an opening and hit him, but have the restraint not to. The two players face off in a circle (roda) made up of the other capoeiristas who clap and sing along with the berimbau and other instruments at the entrance. It's unlike any other martial art I have trained in (which is quite a few) It allows you to immerse yourself into the art - mind, body, and soul. Plus, it's the best workout you'll ever get.

I'm familiar with that name, but how does it really differ from other martial arts? I've heard it's something between dance and combat moves.
