  Feonek (Fee-O-neck) are the main mode of transportation on Hybris, Flight is more convenient than land travel as most of Hybris is thick forest, marshland, and open water (not the most hospitable...). The Feonek's massive wingspan is great for extended flight however these same wings prevent any kind of running on land, tiny legs also contribute to walking difficulties.

  Domesticated Feonek have patterns painted on them by their owners (the Vlems species) to help identify individuals, each family paints different designs, some even use different colored paints. Paints are typically made with a thin paste of crushed up dried Choicce beetles (beetles become white when killed and dried), water, and dyes. Wings are never painted.


  Usually only Male Feonek have horns but females can have them as well, though female's horns are always shorter. Feonek grow their horns a few weeks before they reach sexual maturity at which point they stay with them for life. Horns are made of Keratin, like their claws and feathers.

  Feathers serve no purpose and are purely ornamental. Some Vlems cut the feathers to create a new and unique shape, though that is uncommon.
   Feonek have exceptional eyesight and hearing though a very, very poor sense of smell, this lack of smell has led to many sleeping Feonek to fall victim to fires within their enclosures.

  Feonek tend to stay with a single partner for life and raise 2-3 chicks every 4 years. Chicks stay with their parents for the entire 4 years and often stay within the same pack.

Feonek are Primarily Carnivores and prefer to ambush prey from the skies, They tend to hunt in small Groups at a time usually consisting of 3-5 members. Packs are usually led by one alpha pair, similar to a wolf pack.
