Well anyway, Jo’s reaction to the news is to get angry with everyone just trying to help. Not the smartest thing to do, but at this point Joanna just doesn’t give a damn.

I’m pretty happy with how I handle keeping Jo in character but I think I may have rushed Mr. Bear and Richard’s parts little. In reality if your teachers had to deal with this kind of situation they probably wouldn’t just let the student go off on their own. They would have detained Jo or at least gone after her when she stormed out of the school. I probably could have tried to include that in the story but then I would have to figure out how she’d lose them later. Plus I feel it would have made the story change it’s direction as it became less about Jo’s Mother and more about her running from teachers. I needed to move the story along so I left out that part. Unforchenly because of that I feel it makes Bear and Richard seem like not very responsible adults.
