I worked on this drawing this morning and it’s of Garudamon from Digimon. She’s definitely one of my favorites even though I’m not a huge fan of those Japanese monsters. Still, the creature designs were probably inspired by the old Ray Harryhausen films as well as the original 1933 King Kong. I’ll bet King Kong did to giant monster movies what Star Wars did to science-fiction. I liked Digimon because the human characters are more relatable and the creature designs are more detailed.Garudamon (c) Toei Animation
