Description
01.08.1222 x 17 inch color
This took me the better part of the break. I have been quite busy with other stuff, but I am happy to say this is complete.

Great piece, amazing to think the colour was done by markers. Did you adjust the colours in photoshop after?

I did a lot of an overhaul to most of the picture.
I used a lot of "overlay" and "multiply" to change or alter colors. Sometimes I had to set things to "normal" or layers to get whites or darks to do highlights or shadows. I used my tablet pen do a lot of the free forms. The sky, clouds, Jupiter, and two moons were modeled with colors and layer effects to show dimension.
Sometimes I had up to 10 layers just to do a single section, whether it was a ship, the person, sky or ground. Each time I finished a section I saved the file as a new version then flattened the area I just completed so the new file concentrated on the next element. For example, I did the sky and background first. Saved the file as v1. Began working on the ship. After it was done I saved that file as v2. And so on. Being a 600 dpi piece of artwork at 22 x 17 inches I could not compute enough memory to save it. Each version was about 1.7 GB and in no way could I have been able to handle 1 file to do the whole thing.
My final file is v4. It has a flattened sky, ship (4 total layers, each a different color scheme, black, gray, red and gray and red and black-the one you see here) and ground. The character and final effects to the overall picture were completed here as well. Since it is easier to open up the individual files I will put together a 4-10 stage process picture since I got several notes requesting the same thing.

The hard work definitely shows. The clouds especially are very detailed.

Did an awesome work on the sky...
I like the ship design too. The coloring greatly ends the reflective aspect of the canopy, the metallic and in some places rusty look of the ship.. Pretty cool.
