Description
"Form is no other than emptiness; emptiness no other than form. Form is exactly emptiness; emptiness exactly form. Sensation, conception, discrimination, and consciousness are also like this..." — Buddha, The Heart SutraI've been contemplating on the so called Void, which is said to be nothingness manifested, some call it emptiness pregnant with possiblity, spaciousness, source, the seed of the spirit in which everything is in a potential but static state. Here are some of my thoughts on it. Let's take for example the mind. It's full of information, all of it simultaneously coexisting within you. If you take a moment to close your eyes and be silent, there's nothing there, nothing creates disturbance, yet all the information collected to date is still present and available on demand. Everything and nothing are both present simultaneously, yet until you reach for something specific and experience that particular bit of information, you experience everything and nothing simultaneously. Here's another analogy that comes to mind: You take a piece of paper and you draw on it until there's not a blank spot left, yet you continue to draw, you draw and draw until on that piece of paper is everything that can possibly be drawn. So you end up with a piece of paper which is completely black and it looks as if there's nothing on it, as nothing can be distinguished. Yet you do know that everything that can possibly be drawn is there on it. So that piece of paper has everything and nothing on it at the same time. Divine consciousness is the focal point of existence, the focal point of any experience and reality. It's both utterly full and empty, it's complete, it's immutable. What we're doing here or 'anywhere' in any given moment, is swimming in the ocean of possibilities. We're consciousness experiencing itself in details, witnessing it's marvelous art, it's beautiful play. That's about how I currently understand the Void. But of course, you can't truly understand it, you can only be it.
