Description

The first part of the experiment was to paint the highlights first. Recently I've felt that I don't do a good job of portraying objects of different materials so I wanted to focus on the way different materials reflect light differently.

The second part of the experiment was the reflective light. Previously I would just use a hard-edged brush for this, but again, different materials reflect light differently, so I used a softer brush for the fur and a hard brush for the shiny stuff.

In the end I was ultimately reminded how important it is to have references to understand how light and shadows work in real life in order to be able to portray that in art.
