Description Art by the amazing Elizabeth Torque   This is my commission from her.

I just adore Elizabeth Torque.  Her work is simply amazing, and she's really fun to work with too.  She can pretty much hold my bank account hostage.  If she sends me a sketch, I probably need to see it finished.

She's also been really busy lately, which I am just happy to hear.  That means that her dedication and work are paying off and people are recognizing it.   This makes me extremely happy!  Also the second artist that I've commissioned who got swamped with professional work after I commissioned them.  So, maybe I'm a good luck charm?  ^_^

As a result this took a bit before she could finish it -- but I maintain that my complete disinterest in time tables is part of the reason she accepted the commission in the first place (I was told it would take a bit when I asked for it).  There is no pressure/guilt/angst coming from me about a delay from anyone I commission.  I simply do not think about things that way, and I'm more interested in the artist being ok/getting life taken care of, than my commission being done immediately.

Because, I KNOW that eventually, I will be having a day where my eternal optimism is waning a bit.  And I'll be vegging in front of the TV, or trying to get caught up in a book to take me away and recharge a bit.  And then, I'll look at my email: delete, delete, delete, utter crap DELETE.  HOLY SHIT!!! ART!

And that's what happened here.  More often than not, when art is "delayed" (and I don't even view this as delayed), it will show up at "the perfect time".  Now, part of that is because I'm NOT hung up on time, I'm willing to accept things as they come, and be happy.  But a few times it's ABSOLUTELY true that the art will arrive at a great point.  Where I'm low, or I'm just sorta -blah-.  And it wakes me up and reminds me, to smile and be happy.  I am a "pessimistic optimist" -- though I'm trying to loose the pessimism.  As person who does crap with computers I just simply expect failure, and treat it like it's a normal path to something better.  (NOTHING works the first time in my professional world.)  And i've reframed the question of "is the glass half empty or half full?" as  I HAVE A GLASS and IT HAS WATER IN IT!".  People seem to forget that the implicit part of that question is that you HAVE SOMETHING, and you should be happy about THAT.  The level of water in the glass is a secondary issue.

So, delays in art are worrying about the level of water in the glass, when art really is getting a nice glass of cool water when you are hot and thirsty.  It feeds the soul when you need it, and bolsters it even when you don't.   And the best part is that it acts that way FOREVER.   You can just go look at it again, and I mean LOOK at it again, and that act helps drown out the stupidity that wears people down.  When done, you can then go back and look at the world, after a brief holiday from reality.  I keep AberrantKitty 's She-Hulk as my desktop for that reason. Occasionally Shulkie peaks through the windows, and I smile each time.

Eh.  Oh, sorry rambling again.  But yeah, this hit at a great time for me to remember that it's Saturday and I should use it.  Now, it's sunday and I'm sharing.

And I really love this.  A bit of action.  A bit of Shulkie bursting from some clothes.  And I just love her build.  Great legs, and I love her arm, with it's nice muscle tone.  I'm really fond of some of the details like the thread along the rip in her skirt.   Entire thing makes me smile.   ^_^   I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.  Maybe someone out there will STOP and look today, and have  better day because of it like I did.

If you can't tell, I think commissioning Elizabeth Torque is "Highly Recommended".  This is my fourth work by her, and I love all of them.

Here are my other commissions from her:

Oh, and in case you want to see AberrantKitty 's She-Hulk that I use as my desktop picture:

I know!

I've had this experience where i say, "That's a 10 out of 10".  And then the artist makes it a bit better, or their next piece is even better.  And i"m like "11 out of 10"?

I REALLY like the next one coming from her.  (It's not She-Hulk.)
