Description
I lay here on the floor, a silent corpse
My withered flesh, too soon to be reborn,
As God abandons this unholy pawn,
The evil spreads; my poor skin, how it warps!
I groan within, yet no-one hears a sound
My lungs now riddled as I freeze and burn,
A ghastly tremor as I start to turn
From light to darkness, writhing on the ground.
They checked my pulse and left me there: “He’s dead.”
Death! Oh, how I longed for death, but instead
Below the surface, something was gaining
The lifelessness within me was waning
I stand, we march, with a droning refrain
Our new-found hunger: to devour brains.
