The Jose P. Rizal Activity Hub is an underground structure and symbolizes the lightness to darkness theme of Rizal’s life; as his character, Crisostomo Ibarra the idealist to Simoun a violent anarchist. It also represents the transformation of conservative to liberalist ideals that change must be addressed from the oppression of the colonizers to the persecuted. The hub represents a daily reminder of the atrocities that Rizal is trying to fight against. But it also symbolizes for us, the present day Filipinos, that we must look back to our past and reflect on ourselves on what we can do for a better nation
