Description Competition artwork for the Environmental Management Bureau Office's Acid Rain Competition.

"In support of EANET’s conduct of public awareness campaign on Acid Deposition Prevention, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources through the Environmental Management Bureau Central Office presents the Digital Poster Making Contest.

There are natural occurrences in the environment that causes acid rain. However, most acid rain is a product of human activities. In the Philippines, the major causes of acid deposition are from mobile and stationary sources such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide which can be found in factories, vehicles, oil refineries, and other industries.

When acid rain causes pollution, it also causes climate change. Like climate change, acid rain has many ecological effects, especially on bodies of water as well as our farmlands. These two are closely linked as they are both emissions-based.

With that, this contest aims to highlight the impacts of acid deposition on our environment. This contest will also highlight local talent in art and provide a platform for Filipino environmentalism."
