But I loved this movie. Awww Toothless. Toothless is not the only reason I loved it. x) The character development, "Forbidden Friendship", Craig Ferguson, "Test Drive", DRAGONS, all the character designs ,the soundtrack, the art book, AAAUGH, it's so good!

So here is a speedpaint that I did while in class.

Pfff, I dunno. It was just one of those lines that just seemed like a wat moment. Along with "Thank you for nothing you useless reptile." There were other parts in the dialogue that I didn't like either (mostly with Astrid actually) but that didn't take away with how awesome the movie was as a whole. 8D

Ah I don't know, Toothless' reactions to those lines was rather awesome. And maybe I like to justify everything because I'm not easily disappointed. Astrid was a little annoying, but I think that's because she was playing keep-away or was a bit of a know-it-all. You know the funny thing? The dragon she rode was the most beautiful, and the most vain of the dragons. If I got a dragon, it would be a Doomfang, which is a water dragon, that are actually friendly. They're only in the books though, but it was interesting to see all the different dragons. It was that or the one that spit boiling water. But yeah, I found a site with all the dragon species from the books (which I totally want to read)

On an aside, for all the people complain about a movie being nothing like the book, the way I see it, it brings attention to the books, and then the series gets more popularity, no matter how crummy the movie.
Yeah.

And also sometimes things that may work well in books wouldn't work well on the big screen. So it's not that the movie isn't being true to the book, they probably tried to keep as many aspects of the book in there that they could, but there are certain things that you'd have to change in order to keep the pacing of the movie or to keep the viewer interested.

And yeah, before this movie I had never even heard of the book (same with Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs). So that's cool too, that it brings attention to the books.

Oh so true. Some things are only meant to be visualized. Or timed differently. I've notice when I write stories, I try and visualize how they'll look on the big screen. Maybe I shouldn't do that unless I stick to graphic novels!
Oh yeah, I should read Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs too! Even a bad rendition (or those songs that use something from and older song) have the same effect.
