somehow they knew the little weary bird did not belong on the island. gently coaxing it from beneath the tree, they brought it with them as they headed back to the mainland. as they came closer kaito could see some swooping birds in the distance by the cliffs and altered course. as they drew into the cove the bird suddenly took off to join its flock.
