Description Small pencil handwriting brushes for Photoshop 7 (should work with earlier versions as well).
138 different brushes all together.
Includes the most important letters/symbols in the extended latin alphabet i think, and some more...

All brushes are in 600 ppi resolution.

Add a little realism:

Pencil: Don't use 100% black (try adjusting opacity on the layer to something like 80+%).
Paper: Not always 100% white. Use som light grey or yellow (really soft).

www.deviantart.com/deviation/5… - Burnt paper brushes

This brushset is free for both personal and non-commercial use. Oh, and if someone wants to make a font out of this, that would be awesome.

I recommend you get winrar from [link] to handle rar and zip files. There are other options as well.

Hey, I'm new with downloading brushes for photoshop, and the .abr files work fine, but I am 14 and unsure what to do with .zip files. So if anyone could help out, it would be deeply appreciated.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chain In reply to GibbetFiller5900 [2007-11-25 14:59:28 +0000 UTC]

Zip-files are compressed files that contain one or more files (here it contains a brush file .abr and the readme file). This is simply to save space (making it quicker to download). Windows XP (and Vista I assume) has basic support for reading zip-files (it calls them "compressed folders" - but they are in fact files).

Another common compressed format you encounter online is .rar files.
A good piece of software to handle compressed files (zip and rar) is WinRAR: [link] (WinRAR 3.71)
(It allows you to unpack files, as well as make compressed files)

Can i use them in commercial work?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chain In reply to nanaya-chan [2007-09-10 23:26:56 +0000 UTC]

You should ask me for permission first (tell me what they will be used for), but unless it's for a big company or something i will probably say "yeah, go ahead"

Um.. how i can explain it. I do now manga and i will try to publish it later so it isn't commersial work yet.

i'd really love to use your brushes, but i have psp8, and they won't import in... i was wondering if you could possibly send me the source images or something so i can use them, too?

i love the whole idea behind these.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chain In reply to fascinationxstreet [2005-07-12 19:22:46 +0000 UTC]

Well, i don't know how paint shop pro handles brushes, but if you install photoshop, you can paint the brushes in an empty document, crop and save them as images (to open in psp and maybe create new brushes there or whatever).
I've unfortunately lost the original source images.

The brushes were made for Photoshop 6 or something, but they work with every newer version (including CS2).
