One would think Soarin' as the fandom's pie stallion would already be bad enough (or done to death) for an association, but for me, Fire Streak inadvertently became the Pi Day stallion.

Or, at least the one who has to put up with Soarin's antics year after year. After all, what are best friends for?

I'd go as far as saying I like him more than even Soarin' at this point as a Wonderbolt character, just ignore the part where he was scapegoated to free up a slot, which was later thrown out the window alongside him where yet another Wonderbolt was added later on, with no explanation whatsoever, even though I only end up vectoring him at all for one or two yearly pictures specifically for special occasions. I could dig vectoring Fire Streak himself being a special occasion in its own right, though. I blame his issue of poor screentime or number of appearances in the show; just to give some perspective, you can't create a full, standard rotation of his body from every frame that he has some appearance in thus far. With the others I usually do, it doesn't take a lot of my effort to just vector off the show, thus most things I create with Fire Streak (or other ponies with a similar issue, and by that I mostly mean one other pony if I go off of ones I've actually made stuff for...) are a lot of things thrown together and subsequently edited accordingly.

This started from an idea I've had from a while back, which consisted of just Fire Streak carrying Soarin' back home or wherever, after whatever Pi(e) Day festivities the latter would've partaken in. Pi Day or not, Fire Streak being his bro-buddy would always tag along, whether to join in, albeit a bit more..."responsibly", or just to be Soarin's chaperone or keeper, knowing that he'd often have to clean up or keep Soarin' safe afterwards (or alternatively, because no one else on the team would put themselves up to the task, for whatever reason). As "frustrating" as Fire Streak would express it, he knows ponies will be ponies and everything else that he likes in Soarin', not only as a teammate (or former teammate), but also as a friend makes it all worth it.

As for why Soarin's drunk? Just another idea I randomly thought of sometime after everything else, mostly from these things called "rum cakes" that I remembered, both from my own trip to Bermuda about 11 years ago, and when mom brought them home. Of course, I wasn't old enough to consume them, I just knew they were alcoholic. I figured I'd look up if "rum pies" were a thing and they were, though not that it'd have made a difference if they weren't.

This actually began with Fire Streak facing toward the left, but in order for the dialogue to be read from left to right, I mirrored (most of) it. Partly because of that, this looked better in my head.
