Description
Barracks: Fortress’ room (Time: 15:30)Fayaya was wearing her mask as she seen packing. However, a hovering screen appears behind her as a familiar voice yelled, “FAYAYA!” This caused Fayaya turned around in alarm as she said ‘What do you want?’ in response. On screen, an adult Keronian wearing a pickelhaube helmet was seen with grey skin and copper brown eyes said, “What are you doing there, Lance Corporal?”
“I’m packing my stuff- and I’m not leaving the army.” Fayaya said. “We recently made an agreement with someone who could lend us a base- or part of one. A Platoon ally of ours let us have it.”
“I see…” The Keronian said, rubbing his chin. “Who is the Platoon in question?”
“The Winged Elemental Corps, or course.” Kabubu said as he is seen with a large bag. “They let have us to share part of their base!”
“And how may I pray tell ask how did you have them agree?” The superior asked.
“Colonel Ivovo, The leaders are friends. However, they came to an agreement- provided that help with the expansion of the base, we get to keep part of it as living quarters.” The demo Keronian said.
“I see!” The Colonel responded. “Now…how is your pregression on another platoon to accept you?”
“Poorly.” Fayaya said. “I’ve got no takers yet- I mean, how many people would take a flamboyant bisexual Pyro?”
“Well pick up the pace!” Ivovo said in an stern and demanding tone. “And Fayaya, Mask off! I will not have you run around with your childish antics, child.”
“Mrrph, fine.” Fayaya said as she removed the mask and closed her eyes. She then adjusted her voice to more of a male’s one as she admits, “You said before that it would be harder to read one’s emotions with the mask on.”
“That aside, I expect each and every single one of you to find a Platoon for each of you. Aside from that spy with psychology problems, each of the three of you has legacies to live up to.” The Colonel said. “And I expect you to do so, or you WILL blemish your family’s reputation- and I will see to it that your platoon will be as Keron’s most ‘unruly and greediest soldiers to exist’. Now…as for performance reviews, I see that Puriri has increased a bit more than average. However, she has yet to have anyone examine her Psyche- and you said that you would. That noted, should I also add 'unreliable' to your future title?”
“…You done, sir?” Kabubu asked, sounding annoyed but is cleverly hiding it.
“For now, yes.” Ivovo said. “Ivovo reporting out. And even though you still have until the end of August to find a Platoon, expect your platoon to be dissolved when you are all separated, and I will see to it that any of you members that have not yet to find one will go to platoons to my own choosing. Best hurry up now.”
The screen disappears the same way a weapon does. And when the two looked around they gave relieved sighs as they just went limp. “God I hate that guy!” The demo Keronian said
Fayaya puts the mask back on as ‘he’ admits, “Why did we got stuck with this guy? I mean, he’s gotta be the most stuck-up, inconsiderate and meanest person I ever met.”
“I can’t the army would force us to make him in charge of us after the whole ordeal with Masasa!” Kabubu admitted, grumpy as well as speaking in his normal Scottish way. “We also had to clear out of the barracks too for that matter- because we’re a ‘bad example for new platoons everywhere!’ honestly, if I ever meet that guy in person I’d stick a grenade right up his-”
“Hey-hey-hey, no need to get graphic, alright?” Fayaya said. “I mean, things already got spirally when Masasa finally woke up.”
“Aye…the lad doesn’t recognize us still, even today.” Kabubu admitted, saddened. “One day, he might, but…maybe not.”
“Take about depressing…” Fayaya said. “And even if do get a new member, I’m sure Ivovo would put him or her somewhere AWAY from us- because ‘we’re bad’. That’s a load of bullsh**. I mean sure we did some odd quirks, but that’s part of our charm. And now the army just wants us separated- period.”
“Aye- and ta think this all started almost a couple of months ago.” Kabubu said.
1 Month, 28 Days ago: Hospital (Time: 18:30)
-Broken Reality- plays as Sododo was sitting on a chair on the side of the bed where Masasa was seen surveying the area. A nurse soon walked in as she admits, “Is there anything I can do for you, sir?”
“You…say that Masasa’s head trauma resulted in memory loss, right?” Sododo asked with a look.
“That’s what the doctor’s said.” The Nurse responded. “Initially he was hard to contain until he finally calmed down when he first woke up. Not to mention he was rather…well I guess the word ‘perverted’ would suffice.”
“Aw c’mon- you know you want some of this.” Masasa said with a silly smirk. “And what’s with the nurses around here anyways?”
“Masasa…” Sododo growled underneath his breath.
“…” Masasa looked to the soldier and said, “I got nothing to say to a stranger.”
“…” Sododo just looked at him and just gave a sigh. “You really don’t remember me, do you?”
“Nope. Earlier was the first time we met.” The scout said as he looked forward. “…You said that I was a soldier, right? Private First Class?”
“…” The swordsman gave a defeated look before looking to the scout and said with a sad smile, “Yes. You are. You are a member of the army- a Platoon known as Fortress.”
“Hm…seems about…right.” Masasa replied, thinking a bit.
“Nurse, you said that he’s finally going to get a discharge, and we should check back once his memories return, right?” Sododo admitted.
“That was what the doctor’s decided.” The Nurse said. “We wonder if Masasa should return with you and try to recover his memories as long as he remains with you.”
“…Alright. But I don’t know if the Platoon is going to take it- it’s been between me and Kabubu, but...I’m not sure the girls are gonna take it.” The swordsman said, looking at the scout as the theme ends.
Outside
Kabubu and the females of the Platoon were waiting outside as the three were each doing something. However, Sododo and Masasa soon came by as the girl’s immediately ran up to him. “Masasa!” Puriri exclaimed in her happiness as she hugged him, with Masasa a confused expression. However, this moment turned a bit…sour when Puriri noticed that he wasn’t hugging back…and she backed off. “Masasa?”
“…” Masasa gave a quizzical look to Puriri before to admit, “Who…are you?”
“Y-you don’t…remember me?” The spy said, shocked.
“No. This is the first time I met any of you- or at least, as far as I can remember.” Masasa admitted.
“Aw no…” Fayaya admitted through the mask. “I thought it was the case.”
Puriri looked really saddened upon hearing what happened as she gave a look to her superior who shook his head. She gave a sigh as she admits, “My name is Puriri- Corporal Puriri. I’m a Platoon mate of yours and a spy. This is Lance Corporal Fayaya, our Pyro, and Second Lieutenant Kabubu, our demo Keron.”
“Nice to meet you…I guess.” Masasa admitted.
“We should head to the Barracks and the let the head know that Masasa’s recovered but is suffering for some memory loss.” Sododo admitted as the theme ends.
Barracks: Fortress’ room (Time: 19:35)
The soldiers walked into the room with Sododo walking in first. However, he notices someone inside of the room as he said, “Hey, who let you into our room?”
The other soldiers came in as Fortress came face to face with Ivovo, who was in the room as the –C.T.’s Message plays. “Late by 5 minutes. I told you- we have a meeting for 19:30 hours, and you’re late.”
“Who are you supposed to be?” Puriri asked.
“My name is Colonel Ivovo- if you had come here sooner, then I would tell you that today from this point forward I will be serving as your new supervisor.” The Soldier said. “Now let’s start by introducing yourselves, troopers. State your rank and your job in this platoon. But I want you in descending order- stand in line from highest rank, to lowest.”
The 5 gave a bit of looks to each other as they stood in their proper place from right to left. Sododo stood in attention as he said, “Lieutenant Colonel Sododo of Fortress Mercenaries. I’m the main leader of the Platoon and co-founder of the Platoon.”
“Second Lieutenant Kabubu’s my name, sir.” Kabubu admitted as he stood in attention. “I’m co-founder of Fortress and their demolition expert.”
“Erm, Corporal Puriri, sir. I’m their spy and first member to join them.” The light colored Keronian admitted while looking nervous. “I’ve been with them for…over 5 years.”
“Lance Corporal Fayaya Junior. I’m their Pyro and the second member to join them.” Fayaya said, trying to sound dignified. “I’ve been with them for at least 3-4 years.”
“And I’m Private First Class Masasa.” The boy said. “I guess…I’m their scout.”
“Indeed.” Colonel said. “Not to sound trivial, but last time I checked, scouts don’t go on missions assassins would be doing- half-cocked and solo no less.” This gives the black and red tadpole a confused yet angry expression grunt. “And Corporal Puriri- you failed your first objective as a Spy and not just a participating member, am I right? Tell me- have you completed a psychology evaluation recently?” This causes Puriri to instantly feel more nervous as she was seen twindling her fingers. The highest ranking member then faces Fayaya next as he admits, “And you, Lance Corporal. I see you are just as your mother was- ambiguous and flamboyant. Like mother, like daughter I suppose.” This definitely caused confusion between Kabubu and Masasa, and most especially Fayaya as she exclaimed, ‘Huh?!’ through the mask.
“Oi- you tellin’ us Fayaya’s a girl?!” Kabubu exclaimed.
“That is what’s said in the records, last time I checked.” Ivovo said. “But I also notice your impish nature- mask off, soldier. That’s an order.”
“Tch.” Fayaya said as she removed her mask, but closed her eyes. She then disguised her voice with a boy’s one and said, “Better?”
“Yes, quite.” The highest ranking officer said before turning his attention to Kabubu.
“Next up, for you, skirt chasing should be restricted to time off or when you’re off duty. You are a soldier first, and even if you do find a woman- you would rather her be widowed if you die in combat? And stop with that atrocious accent- you are awful at it.” Kabubu gave a low growl as the grey Keronian finally turns his attention to the leader.
“And you- son of Captain Boriri- or rather Captain Rugaga as he used Boriri as a fake name. You do your father’s legacy proud, proving you surpassed him both in rank and in spirit. But you must have the patience of a saint to of accepted these ambigious soldiers into your platoon. Considering that IF you are as good a soldier as your father was before he passed.”
“My father is great Keronian. He would accept anyone no matter how the person is odd as long as they remain true to who they are.” Sododo said. “He worked with Major Suhaha and Kabubu’s father after all. At least, I would assume since we have met.”
“Yes, the Major…I noticed on record that you keep contact with him.” Ivovo said. “But this isn’t about him- this is about you. And on topic of your questionable leadership, I noticed that two of your soldiers had lost their memories- one through Hypnosis and one through a recent injury.”
“Yes sir.” Sododo said as he stood. “I believe that Masasa will recover his memories on his own. Puriri’s however…will need a bit more time.”
“I see.” The Colonel said. “But I must ask next- why would you become mercenaries instead of soldiers in the army? I’m certain that the army’s pay would help with room and dine and among things- like experimental processes perhaps?”
Kabubu stiffened up upon hearing that, but Sododo continues. “I…wasn’t aware they would actually cover it. We thought by becoming mercenaries, we could scrounge up more money to help pay for some of more expensive areas- like the procedure. We also helped out lower ranking or new platoons out with their invasions or even training.”
“A noble effort…if not altered by the fact that they have pay for your services.” Ivovo said. “And last I recall, Puriri, before she joined the army, paid for your services just to protect you, and you took every last bit of her money she had at the time.”
“But they returned it!” Puriri said. “They returned the money after everything that happened because they failed their job, and I even asked to come with them!”
“Corporal, this regards to your leader, not to you. So keep your silence.” The Colonel said, prompting the short member to give a sad expression. “And of course your Platoon’s quirks- from your scout’s perverted or brooding behavior, to your Spy’s Hypnophobia and Monophobia, to your Pyro’s ambigious nature and flamboyant personality, to your Demo’s skirt chasing habits and occasion failures of constructing his personal grenades, to your own honesty, honor, and saying things about your Platoon members that you don’t want to unveil. Each of you has your quirks that disorganizes or even disrupts this Platoon’s activities- like how your scout ran off to play vigilante. Ever since he joined you platoon, and especially ever since that mission, your platoon was slipping out of the spotlight of fame and into the limelight of infamy. When and if he does regain his memories, if Private First Class Masasa doesn’t learn to shape up on his actions and become a proper member unless he changes roles, he is going to be the one to destroy what’s left of your good standing.”
Masasa gave a bit of a guilty look as Sododo said, “Masasa is our friend. Before his memory loss, he made a promise to change his ways. He may not remember it, but Puriri and I remember crystal clear. And the Memory loss is sure to help him on his way. Even though he may not remember us, he will someday.”
“I can see that you’re positive about this, but know this- tomorrow you are to make sure you all report on time to my office, and we are to see that both Masasa and Puriri gets a proper psychological examination.” Ivovo said as he walks past the soldiers. “Good day to you, Fortress.”
As soon as the soldier leaves and footsteps were far enough away as the theme ends, Kabubu, Fayaya and Puriri went limp in relieve as Kabubu admitted, “I thought he would never leave!”
“Talk about your high-wind up soldiers!” Puriri admitted.
Sododo sighed as he admits, “What happened to our old superior though?”
Fayaya puts on her mask again as ‘he’ admits, “That’s what I wanna know- it’s like we got stuck with a bureaucrat- and a mean one at that!”
“…” Masasa just didn’t say a word. He looked around and went to a black and red bed before hoping on and just looked up. “But every word seemed to be true- especially about me...even though I don’t remember it. Every word is just…needles.”
“Not every word. You can’t let him hold you down like that.” Sododo said as he approaches the bed.
“He’s right- he must have on record everything I did- even before I joined I bet. And judging from the tone of his voice, he ain’t happy with me, because I must’ve done a lot of things.” The scout said, moving to his side and sounding down. “I should just get thinking about transferring myself to another platoon or even into a correctional facility.”
“Don’t say that!” Puriri exclaimed, sounding stressed. “Just…don’t. You’ve been for at least three years now as member, even though those memories are all gone. We’ll help you remember them, because you’re our friend… You’re one of us, Masasa!”
“…” Masasa gave a bit of a look before turning his burying his head into a pillow.
“I think he just needs some time, you think?” Fayaya asked. “…” She then had an idea as she said, “I think I’ll go take a bath.”
“Huh?” The three looked to Fayaya.
“Er, you are a girl, right?” Kabubu asked.
“Well, that’s what he knows- what you know is up to you, Kabubu-kun.” Fayaya said as she walked off.
“I think I know he’s up to.” Puriri said. “I think we just need to cool our heads, right?”
“Yeah. After everything that happened, I think we just some time to ourselves.” Sododo admitted. “We’re going to relax for now before our meeting tomorrow.”
The group nodded as they began to head out. Puriri stopped as she looked behind her. “Masasa-san. I know you’re not feeling the greatest right now, but if you want to join us, you can.” Masasa however, didn’t say a word. Puriri looked sad though as she left and closed the door. Masasa was left behind… but when we see his face lift up. He looked wiped his face as he did… he gave a bit of an angry look. However, some part of the pillow looked to have a couple spots…like he was…crying?
Later that night…
Most of the group was asleep in their beds- Masasa was seen looking up to the ceiling. He gave a look to the clock on the wall that reads 11:30 PM (23:30) as he did, he sees that most of the group is asleep. –Finding the Director- plays as Masasa rose up and dug out something from underneath the bed. It looked to be a backpack with his symbol on it. He puts it on and leaves something on the bed- a note. He then heads outside of the room. As he did, Sododo walked in from another door- possibly the bathroom as he walked up to his bed. However, he sees something that catches his eye. “Hm?”
The swordsman walked up to the empty bed and finds the note. He picks it up and he reads it to himself. His eyes went wide when he realizes what it was about. He gave a bit of a groan as he quickly made his way outside of the room, the note drops onto the ground. The letters were of the race’s lettering, but it was translated as this:
Dear…Fortress, I guess.
By the time you get this message, I’ll be long gone. After hearing what Ivovo said, about me being the downfall of Fortress about my actions, I…felt ashamed. Even though I don’t remember what I did, if could remember, I’d feel guilty about what I had done. I didn’t think it would hurt you guys and cause so many people to probably distrust us. I’m probably the only thing to stop you from getting back your trust. So I decided to leave you- and try to find myself.
Ivovo knows what I did- before I was a member of the army, before that one mission, and before I lost my memories. And I’d be damned before I hurt anymore people. I might forget this too seeing my memory what it is now. But…all I ask is that you remember me not as a possible ‘vigilante’ or something…but as a friend. You guys remember me the best. And I want it to stay that way.
What I forgotten could indeed help me better myself- but I also want to remember-because I remember my own actions, I can stop myself from making the same mistakes. I know it’s a mistake leaving you guy6s, but…I want to start by remembering myself. But that means I have to go to where I started…and beyond that- I heard rumors of a new platoon. Maybe…I can start there. I’m sure they’ll be able to help me.
But…this also means I’ll have to say goodbye. So I’ll just say it here then…
Your friend and former…platoon mate- Private First Class Masasa.
Outside the Barracks…
Masasa was already stepping off the steps of the building. However as soon as he did, he took only a few steps but notices a Navy blue soldier in front of him. ‘Him again…’ he said to himself.
"Private Masasa! Where do you think you are going?!" Sododo demanded said as the navy blue Keronian blocking his path.
"…I'm leaving. I'm not sure who you are, but I can't stay here." Masasa answered.
"But you must stay here. You are unwell. You have to let us help you! As your leader I am ordering you to stop!" The leader said while pointing his sword at the tadpole.
The black and red tadpole looked not to give a single word, while the sword was being pointed at him. But as Sododo lowered the blade, the private speaks. "…Sododo, right? A leader should know when to let his troopers go. I could barely recall that I am your subordinate, but sometimes… there are times that we must go our separate ways. This is where you and I go. Our paths will intersect on one way or another, but this path I have to take."
Sododo widened his eyes at this, but at the same time, he seemed to give a bit of a heavy sigh before putting his sword away. "…I see. But if you leave, then it might be possible that army might come after you." The leader said. “This could also be a big mistake in itself.”
"Let 'em come. If they're gonna give me meds to keep me calm, or experiment on me- hell, or even put me in a mental institution, then they're going to catch me then." Masasa calmly said. "But only if you keep my location secret."
"…Alright." The Navy blue keron said. "Until we meet again."
“Thanks…” Masasa said as he slowly walks by the soldier. “But if we did, I’d be causing more than you want.”
Sododo then watches as his friend disappears into the night. Sododo gives a sigh as he quietly admits to himself, “Father…I wonder if this was something you would’ve done too…”
Present Day: Fortress’ Room
Kabubu was pretty much practicing his throwing arm by throwing a ball against a wall as he said, “I get why Sododo did it, but he was right- it did cause more trouble for us! Ivovo pretty much got us sent into a countdown to Fortress’ disbandment!”
“Ooooh…” Fayaya said, saddened. “I…I don’t want to go from everyone…I’ve loved you guys…I don’t want to be separated because some high-class SNOB thinks we’re bad for each other and the army. But still though…I wonder if Masasa’s alright…”
“Aye- me too lad…me too…” Kabubu said as the theme ends with him having a photo of himself and his other Platoon, looking like their current selves- including Masasa’s original appearance.
