Yulia is Euli's younger sister by roughly six years. Adopted when she was 3 and Eulalie was 9, she is originally Russian. While she was raised under the name Genevieve, after reaching adulthood, she promptly legally changed her name back to Yulia, making her middle name her original surname of Petrovsky (she would have just made it her surname, but realized it would make things difficult if she and Euli ever needed to 'prove' they were siblings, given they look nothing alike).

While her appearance (well, weight wise) and interests veer very into what her parents wanted - she's a pre-med student at the University of Sydney - her overall personality...does not. The elder Durands blame her combative and rebellious behavior on being a "crazy Russian", and it is a stereotype that Yulia has leaned fully into. No one really calls you a crazy Russian if you're crazy enough they're scared to say it, she's found. She's six feet tall, very aggressive, incredibly loud, and really needs some therapy... The only person she has a secure attachment to is her older sister, who she regards as more her mother than their adoptive mother, and a lot of her combativeness is directed at anyone she thinks has wronged her sister in some way - from Euli's exes to their parents, to anyone who has ever made the mistake of asking if they were dating.

Not to say she doesn't love to irritate her sister sometimes - usually by taking things. (When Euli received her geode from Amethyst Dragon, Yulia wound up kidnapping it during a study abroad trip over a mid-semester break, and gleefully sent her sister a lot of rather dangerous selfies with it, leading to Euli giving the geode and future pilik to Sailor Arachne). She has some significant fears around emotional intimacy and yet feels like she has to be in a relationship, which has led to her breaking more than her fair share of hearts, as well as being a headache for Euli to try and keep track of who she's with at any given point.

She got into the fandom of the sailor themed superheroes from Japan back as a pre-teen, at least in part due to a crush on Sailor Uranus (which is why she has the symbol for the planet tattooed on her thigh...and why her hair is short...) While she's branched out in interests, she definitely still keeps up with the news there, and is really excited when the new Crystal Senshi begin to appear around the world. She'd never dream that one of them is her actual sister! Her current big hobbies include boxing, MMA fighting, and trying to learn Russian after not having spoken it since she was a literal toddler (which is hard). Like her sister, she has pretty complicated feelings about their adoptive parents, but she goes to family dinners once a week with them, which are stiff and awkward affairs, as well as holidays.

She's not a senshi, but she's associated with Euli and therefore the group Crystal Animamates, which you can check out here
